Charity Runs and Walks

Attract Participants Pre-Race
Spread the word about your nonprofit event with promotional items adorned with your cause. Set up a table in your target area and pass out magnets, lanyards and lip balm to people walking by, along with a sign-up sheet so they can take part. Passersby will recognize the iconic ribbon symbols of your nonprofit organization and will want to learn how they can help.

Wear Promos With Pride
Wearable items like clothing, hats and accessories won’t be worn by runners and walkers only during the event; they’ll be used after the fundraiser too. Pay attention to the demographics of your participants: men and women may prefer different promos like bracelets and socks, so be sure to have wearables ready that both genders will enjoy.

Ready, Set … Surprise!
When participants sign up to register on race day, delight them with goodie bags of promos they can use throughout the event, such as pedometers to track their mileage or umbrellas in case of rain. Don’t forget prizes at the finish line either. Runners will appreciate a cold bottle of water and snacks to refuel after all their hard fundraising work, along with participant awards marked with their time.

Keep the Fundraising Alive
Participants will be able to keep promoting your cause long after the race when you give them promos perfect for the season. Since most charity runs happen in the spring and summer, give runners items like sunglasses, blankets or beach balls, all emblazoned with your nonprofit’s brand. This way, plenty more people will get exposed to your initiative and you’ll be looking at increased engagement for next year’s event.
